Annecy, France.
Airport: The airport Berlin Brandenburg "Willy Brandt" (IATA code BER) is the central airport for Berlin.
Trains: Berlin has several train stations, with the two main ones being Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Berlin Central Station) and Berlin Ostbahnhof (Berlin East Station). The city is well-connected by rail to other cities in Germany and Europe.
Buses: Berlin has a central bus station called Berlin ZOB, which serves as a hub for many national and international bus lines.
Each year the EOS is hosted in a different country and we search for a location that not only offers delegates somewhere easy and convenient to get to, but somewhere that conveys the spirit of the outdoors. For the 2022 summit we were extremely pleased to be working in conjunction with EOG partner association, Outdoor Sports Valley. The venue location was Annecy, in the heart of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, close to the international airports of Lyon and Geneva. A region that has become one of the most important outdoor clusters in Europe. International industry giants such as Salomon, Millet, Mavic, Scott Sports, Eider, Lafuma, Odlo, Arva, Oakley... and so many others have their headquarters in Annecy.
Outdoor Sports Valley (OSV) is the French trade association for the outdoor industry, committed to growing the outdoor sports market, promoting participation in outdoor sports and preserving the great outdoors. Created by manufacturers and local authorities in 2010 in Annecy, its core mission is to provide existing companies and new start-ups with the support and tools they need to grow in an ever-changing business environment.
OSV provides this support through three focus areas:
• Creation and development
• Services and resources
• Networking and promotion
Today, OSV federates more than 470 companies, forming a vast network and a community that shares common values and goals - creativity, commitment and sustainability - and where companies grow together in an entrepreneurial spirit of innovation. It operates with the contributions of hundreds of committed professionals - from employees to company managers as well as retirees from the industry - who volunteer to face up to the economic and environmental challenges of tomorrow, together.
