Andreas Gyllenhammar - PhD Environmental Analysis, CSO, Sweco
Sustainability expert and strategist. Working with sustainability on the global arena, developing strategies for multinational corporations as well as analyzing the progress in sustainable tourism.
Andreas Gyllenhammar started his career as a researcher at Uppsala University in environmental modeling with extensive fieldwork in various aquatic environments ranging from the Okavango delta, over the Baltic Sea up to Swedish northern rivers and remote mountain lakes. In 2007, when climate change suddenly rose to the top of the global agenda, Andreas became one of the more prominent communicators of the causes and effects of climate change to the Swedish audience. As a consultant and head climate strategist for Sweco (a market leading consultancy firm within Sustainable Engineering and Design) he further developed services within a broader sustainability context, being part of forming strategies for Sustainable Cities. Andreas is now heading sustainable business development for Sweco and being one of the official delegates in the Swedish delegation to the UN top summit Rio+20 last summer and as a member of the World Business Council on Sustainable Development (WBCSD) he is now contributing to the future development of the global sustainability agenda. Some of his work related to the outdoor industry includes analysis of climate change preparedness of Swedish Mountain Destinations and he has also recently been involved in Sustainable Destinations Development in Sweden. Andreas still acts as a consultant in strategic business development, climate analysis and environmental communication and is a widely requested speaker internationally.
Andreas lives with his wife and two children in Östersund, Sweden, close to his roots and to the mountain areas of Jämtland.
